The wallpaper collection designed by Marni for Londonart is a riot of colors and energy. Through rigorous but subversive language, the Londonart collection reworks the heritage of prints and patterns developed over the years by the Maison, bringing the same pictorial appeal and materiality to the wallpapers. Thus, creations are born through a rework, resulting from a transformation project and an artistic journey, which took place following the principles of home decor. Marni’s elegant and, at the same time, revolutionary perspective, which has always celebrated the authenticity of craftsmanship, enhancing the refinement of materials and the originality of design, is shown here in a new light. The subjects are eclectic, characterized by a mix & match of prints, overlaps, and color contrasts. The aesthetic paradigm of the collection reflects the vision of the creative director Francesco Risso who, with a skillful touch, has managed to shape material in the service of creativity. The result is an exploration of intentions, a universe of values that maintains a constant dialogue with the art world. The patterns continue to confirm everyone’s idea of Marni because they are at the center of the brand’s vocabulary and define its graphic language. The protagonists are the macro flowers, the irreverent stripes, the hand-painted psychedelic motifs, all engaged in a constant dance of shapes and perspectives. The colors are unexpected: neutral tones such as black, beige, and blush prevail, but they are always interrupted by bold accents like yellow, fuchsia, blue, and red, which punctuate the collection with rhythm, as if it were a musical score. A rhythm that creates euphoria, forming an enigmatic game of decorations and brushstrokes—a bold attempt to merge the history of the brand and narrate a long journey in which rules, borders, barriers, and genres have been demolished and redefined with a new language.
